Wainbee is pleased to offer the Schmalz SNGi-AE Needle Grippers for handling non-rigid and highly porous materials. These electric grippers are ideal for handling materials that are difficult to grip with vacuum, such as textiles, insulation, fleece, foam and filter materials. Through the use of a selectable stroke adjustment, these grippers also offer the flexible handling of materials with changing stacking height.
The SNGi-AE Needle Grippers offer a number of features. For example, they use intersecting needles to handle hard-to-grip items, while maintaining a small gripping area. These grippers also utilize a blow-off function that provides fast and precise release of the workpiece. Another key feature is the adjustable needle stroke that can be set using definable process profiles. In addition, the stroke can be adapted to suit each cycle, an unlimited number of stroke sequences are possible, and the grippers also offer continuous stroke monitoring. Other notable features include IO-Link interface and low power consumption.
These features offer users a range of advantages. Firstly, the grippers can safely handle even small and unstable workpieces, and can adapt to the geometries of different individual workpieces. Secondly, the versatility of these grippers affords them the ability to handle both single layer or complete stacks using a single gripper. They also offer high process reliability and comprehensive process control. Lastly, the SNGi-AE Needle Grippers offer low power consumption and low maintenance.
These electrically driven grippers also feature a lightweight, high-strength housing. They are available in three sizes with maximum needle strokes of three, 10 and 20 millimetres.
