We remain a leading domestic manufacturer of numerous products, such as eyebolts, rod ends, D-rings, C-clamps, and more. Our lineup also includes turnbuckles, in various diameters, materials, and finishes. With our skills, we can make turnbuckle bodies, assemblies, and fittings to suit a wide range of applications in many different industries internationally.
Versatile pieces of hardware
Turnbuckles are devices used to adjust tension or length in ropes, cables, and tie rods. A typical turnbuckle consists of two threaded eyebolts, each screwed into an end of the hardware. The user adjusts tension by rotating the frame, which screws both eyebolts at the same time without twisting the bolts or attached cables.
As versatile pieces of hardware, turnbuckles can be built or adapted for many applications. In shipping, for example, workers use them to tension the rings and lashings of a ship; in construction, small turnbuckles support fences, while much larger ones help support buildings and bridges. Even in boxing and wrestling, they are useful for attaching ring ropes to posts.
Varying in mass from about ten grams to thousands of kilograms, turnbuckles are usually employed in applications that require additional tension. They are sometimes used in pipe systems for minor adjustments for field inconsistencies, allowing minimal resistance when loads are transferred to support components. They are often used in aerospace, construction, shipping, sports and entertainment.
Ken Forging produces a wide spectrum of turnbuckle bodies, fittings, and assemblies. Our bodies are available in carbon, galvanized, and 316 stainless steel, and hot-dip galvanized or zinc-plated finishes are possible. Our turnbuckle fittings are available in eye, jaw, and stub styles. Our turnbuckle assemblies come in several different fitting combinations, such as stub and stub, jaw and jaw, eye and eye, and jaw and eye. Diameters range from ¼ to 1½ inches.
