Wainbee carries a variety of products suitable for use in demanding washdown and caustic environments. Clippard’s stainless steel cylinders are part of this offering.
Ideal for harsh environments
Clippard’s stainless steel cylinders utilize polished I.D. 304 stainless steel tubes for low breakaway with ground, polished and roller burnished 303 stainless rods, which provide a smoother rod finish that protects rod seals, providing longer life. These features also make them ideal for use in harsh environments. Standard Nitrile rod wipers are included to prevent contaminants from penetrating inside the cylinder. FDA-compliant grease for lubrication, as well as rod and clevis bushings, are also included. These cylinders, known for their quality and reliability, are available in a variety of bore sizes ranging from ¾ to two inches. In addition, they can reliably operate in temperatures from -29 to 110 degrees C (-20 to 230 degrees F).
The 304 stainless steel models have added advantages. They feature precision-rolled construction for a solid, leak-proof design. Cylinder heads are machined from one side for better concentricity, while the rods are threaded, bonded and orbit formed to pistons. Nitrile ”U”- cup piston seals offer powerful, low-friction and trouble-free performance, and a Nitrile ”U”- cup rod seal allows for leak-proof operation.
