Budlar Flexible Products provides both standard rubber extrusions and custom fabricated products. It is known for having Canada’s largest inventory of rubber cord stock, and the company can work with a wide variety of rubber compounds.
Available rubber compounds
The many different types of compounds are available in various durometers and densities. This wide selection ensures there is an ideal option for any application.
The options include:
Nitrile: Nitrile rubber is widely used for seals and hoses in the automotive and aerospace industries. It is a popular elastomer for these applications thanks to its strong chemical resistance to fuel and oil. Nitrile also offers excellent resistance to tearing and abrasion. In addition to standard nitrile, Budlar Flexible Products can work with FDA-approved nitrile for applications such as food processing.
Silicone: Silicone products will stand up to harsh temperatures and compression. When compared to nitrile, silicone has less strength and abrasion resistance. As a result, this compound is often used for static seal applications involving extreme temperatures.
EPDM: Ethylene-propylene compounds are often used as seals for brake systems, or hot water and steam systems. While this compound offers good resistance to silicone oils and mild acids, they are not typically used for applications where they will be exposed to fuel or petroleum oil.
Natural rubber: Natural rubber is made from the latex from rubber trees. This option offers exceptional bonding capabilities when working with metal substrates, and good vibration dampening. As a result, it is often used in equipment mounts and vibration isolators.
Other available compounds
The company works with many other rubber compounds, including Viton, Aflas, neoprene, isoprene, urethane, Teflon, SBR and latex.
