L. & M. Precision Products Inc. produces high-quality custom precision-machined products for a wide range of industries across Canada, the United States and in such worldwide locations as Europe, India and China. The first step to producing any high-quality item is the design process — a three-step process
L. & M. works with its customers to perfect.
Step 1: Initial design
Clients provide an initial design and request a quote for a new custom product request, including estimated annual usage.
Step 2: Design and estimate
L. & M.’s engineering and estimating teams review the design and, if necessary, provide feedback to the customer on how to reduce the cost to make the part and work with the customer on the design to optimize the functionality and cost-effectiveness of the part. Next, the estimator quotes the required lead time and pricing, and also identifies any deviations from the client’s initial design. If the design requires changes or additional specifications, this is also identified. Revised drawings are then sent to the client for approval prior to producing the part.
Step 3: First article approval
A first article approval process is followed on all new production setups. A sample part can be provided to the client for confirmation prior to the full production run, if requested.
Once the design process is complete, production can begin using state-of-the-art equipment at the company’s 50,000-square-foot primary production facility in Toronto. It is this combination of design and production expertise that has earned L. & M. Precision Products Inc. a solid reputation as a top-tier producer of high-quality, precision-machined products and machined components over the last 50-plus years.
