The 3M Fastbond Contact Adhesive 30NF has earned a reputation as a powerful water-based replacement for solvent-based adhesives. Available in Canada from Adheco, this one-component, water-based adhesive offers increased reliability and productivity in applications that require the bonding of HPL to particle board, aluminum skins to styrofoam or beadboard, and plastic sheets to porous and non-porous substrates.
Key features and advantages
3M’s 30NF is a sprayable, rollable and brushable adhesive that offers high immediate bond strength for fast throughput. It also has a long bonding range of up to four hours for assembly at your own pace. It can be heat-activated for fast post forming, and offers ultimate shear strength of 480 psi for reliability that exceeds many solvent-based adhesives; however, this product is non-flammable and low VOC, making it a safer option. In addition, it is more economical, offering 3.5 times more coverage than a typical solvent-based product.
This contact adhesive can be used to bond plywood, particle board, plastic laminate and other rigid materials in cabinet and woodworking shops, for example. It can also be used to bond fabric to drywall, and felt to wood. In addition, it is ideal for bonding EPS insulation inside metal doors and refrigeration units, and for securing rubber flooring in buses, for example.
Adheco carries this and many other water-based adhesives from 3M. Its portfolio also includes the WBFA water-based foam adhesive, a sprayable product that offers high initial strength. It can also supply the Fastbond 2000NF high-performance contact adhesive for bonding HPL to particle board, and for laminating and bonding a wide range of products. The 3M 1000NF one-component water-based adhesive is also available for use in countertop, desk, table, flooring, wall panel and partitions manufacturing.
