Pepperl+Fuchs is calling its 6000 Series Purge and Pressurization System, part of its Bebco EPS family of products, the most advanced system of its kind — one that can handle “just about any application challenge,” the company says. This is because of the system’s many advanced features designed to prevent a corrosive, dusty or explosive atmosphere from penetrating the protective housing.
- Globally certified. The 6000 Series is a single solution for all applications. It is globally certified for use in North America, Europe and Asia. This universal design makes it easy to specify, install and operate in Class I and II, Division 1/ Zone 1 and Zone 21 locations, as well as non-hazardous areas according to North American NFPA 486, European ATEX and International IECex approvals.
- User friendly. The purge and pressurization system is easy to program and operate. It features a user-friendly interface with menu-driven programming that allows the user to program the system according to the requirements of the application. The screen also displays information such as flow, pressure and system status. In addition, the 6000 Series features automatic temperature control, purge and pressurization.
- Durable construction. The system features rugged construction designed to withstand harsh environments that are highly corrosive or dusty, including offshore oil rigs and refineries, as well as pharmaceutical applications. Its controller, pneumatics, electrical I/O and programming interface are all contained in a 316L stainless steel housing with a Type 4X (IP66) rating.
- Flexible. The 6000 Series is available as a stand-alone kit, so that an enclosure can be retrofitted or modified with a purge system. The kits include the control unit with explosion-proof enclosure and a user interface. In addition, the system includes universal mounting for the control unit and vent. The unit can be mounted horizontally or vertically, as its user interface rotates to accommodate either one. The 6000 Series is also available with a number of accessories to enhance its capability. This includes a dustproof enclosure and I.S. termination board, as well as a temperature hub and sensor to monitor and control the enclosure temperature.
Pepperl+Fuchs’ 6000 Series Purge and Pressurization System is available in Canada from Process Instruments & Components, an established Canadian industrial controls distributor based in Markham, Ont.
