The RP/224 vertical surface broaching machine from The Ohio Broach & Machine Company is perfect for small broaching needs. The machine is designed to offer compact size and high-speed performance.
The compact design of the RP/224 ensures this unit takes up a minimum amount of a facility’s valuable floor space. It is solidly constructed and has a rigid base weldment that acts as both a coolant reservoir and a support for the ram, guide and table assembly.
The RP/224 measures 62 inches wide by 76 inches long and 76 inches tall.
This machine is capable of reaching broaching speeds up to 100 feet per minute and return speeds of 200 feet per minute. It has a capacity of two tons and a 24-inch stroke.
The RP/224 is perfect for secondary machining operations, including flats, slots, surface contours and more. This capability eliminates the milling and grinding that are normally required for such operations. The machine also features solid-state Allen-Bradley programmable controls.
The RP/224 is constructed using the best materials and techniques available to provide durability, long service life and precise results. For instance, the machine ways are made from medium carbon steel that is coated with the anti-stick bearing surface Moglice. The ram slides are made from close-grain, high-tensile cast iron that has been ground to ensure a precise fit. The guide block is also made from durable cast iron.
The machine utilizes an individual point pressurized system for lubrication, and it has a high-performance Vickers pump to power the open-loop hydraulics system.
Several optional features are available, such as chip removal systems and industrial castors for easy relocation. Ohio Broach also offers a range of machine accessories, such as additional tables and clamping solutions. For more information, contact Ohio Broach.
