Matritech’s goal is to remain on the cutting edge of technology by continually investing in state-of-the-art equipment. The company’s most recent acquisition is a completely robotic bending cell — the first of its kind in Canada. This cell enables Matritech to offer efficient handling, custom bending services and a host of other advantages to its customers.
The new robotic bending cell features two gripping arms, which allow the robot to take pieces that are laid flat, analyze them, bend them as required, and place them on an automated conveyor when the task is completed. This process is accomplished without human intervention, and with incredible synchronization.
The new robotic cell complements Matritech’s lineup of versatile CNC standard bending presses. It allows a greater variety of dimensions, complexities and metal parts to be manufactured.
Adding robotic bending to its capabilities offers many benefits to Matritech customers. It enables increased manufacturing speed and reduced setup times. In addition, it gives the company the capability to manufacture complex parts that are intended for multiple applications. And, because there is no human intervention, human error is eliminated, resulting in high repetition precision.
A one-stop shop
This latest acquisition increases Matritech’s bending capabilities. However, the Drummondville, Que.-based manufacturer of metallic parts offers more than just bending services. It offers a number of capabilities under one roof, including cutting, bending, stamping, welding, machining, assembly and tool making, as well as finishing services like painting, plating and passivation — all of this, plus efficient and courteous customer service and technical support.
“Matritech wants to be an extension of your business by understanding your needs, challenges and reality. In a way, our mission is to become the metal fabrication division of your company,” it explains.
