Matritech has evolved to meet the needs of its customers since it was founded back in 1989. Back then, the company’s main focus was die design and fabrication. But as its customers’ needs changed and expanded, so did Matritech’s offering.
Today, the company is a one-stop shop for metal parts manufacturing, with the ability to offer a wide range of services from its state-of-the-art facility in Drummondville, Que.
Laser cutting and CNC punching
Matritech’s cutting department employs three types of digitally controlled machines. Its laser machine is equipped with a charging and storage system of 36-unit integrated turrets. Its CNC punching machine is equipped with an ”X” and ”Y” shear system. In addition, the company’s laser punching machine combines the speed of a punching machine with the versatility of a laser for cutting more complex shapes.
Robotic and CNC bending
Matritech has a robotic bending cell that features two gripping arms. This allows the robot to take pieces laid flat, analyze them, complete the bending operations and place them on an automated conveyor. The facility also houses a collection of versatile CNC standard bending presses, adding a variety of dimensions, complexities and metal part families that can be manufactured.
Robotic and manual welding
Matritech offers a complete welding department for steel, stainless steel or aluminum assembly projects. Its department utilizes multi-axle welding robots and pulsed arc welding technology to produce complex welding assemblies for both high-volume and small-scale production projects.
Matritech’s mechanical presses have a pressing capacity of up to 500 tonnes. Stamping can be done from blank parts or with metal coils to ensure continual high-volume production.
Matritech manufactures a wide range of dies. Its progressive dies are ideal for high-volume parts production, while its manual transfer tool is more suited for metal sheet bending short-runs.
The company’s tooling department also features machining centres with two pallet changers for high-speed part production.
Matritech is also equipped with a department specializing in aluminum extrusion transformation. In addition, the company has an assembly department with the capacity to handle bolting, bonding, riveting, crimping, labelling, bagging and packing. Matritech can also handle metal parts finishing, with the expertise to offer various surface coating options, from paint, plating and anodizing, to silk-screening and passivation.
