The PA9Plus portable power quality analyzer from Megger is the latest advancement in the company’s successful PA-9 platform. This model boasts a number of enhanced features such as 12 MB of non-volatile internal memory, standard auxiliary power input, and a faster Digital Signal Processor (DSP), which allows support for continually evolving capabilities.
The PA9Plus can simultaneously record data on power quality and flow. This information is shown on the built-in graphical display, which can also show data on harmonic content, power and source direction in real time.
The unit is capable of using removable memory, so the internally recorded data can be easily transferred to a standard flash card — the same technology in most digital cameras. This means that data can be easily copied off of the device without the need for a computer or PDA. This also increases the instrument’s memory storage capacity. Alternatively, information can be downloaded to a computer using the serial interface and optional modem.
The standard software included with the PA9Plus has also been updated to support all of the instrument’s enhanced features. In addition, a new report generator has been developed as an optional feature.
Used around the world
The PA9Plus supports several international languages and adheres to applicable standards in both North America and Europe. That includes the requirements for flicker measurements and recording, out of limits/frequency trending, and automatic phase lock loop synchronization of input frequencies from 20 Hz to 70 Hz. The PA9Plus meets worldwide power quality standards EN50160, IEC61000-4-15 and IEEE1159/519.
