The DET14C and DET24C clamp-on ground resistance testers from Megger set new standards in access, features, simple operation and safety. These new instruments, part of the company’s Digital Earth Tester (DET) series, are direct replacements for the DET10C and DET20C, and feature an enhanced design, improved safety features and advancements in functionality.
A clamp-on ground resistance tester is used to measure ground resistance in multiple-loop installations without disconnecting the ground rod. These new and improved units are designed with flat core ends to prevent dirt build-up, ensuring measurement integrity and improved reliability over products with interlocking teeth. Features include: large elliptical clamp (head) design; smooth mating surfaces on the clamp head; resistance and current limit alarm functions; and a new ergonomic trigger design. Other enhancements include: a CATIV 600-volt rating, which makes the unit safe to use anywhere on the ground system; a built-in filter function for electrically noisy environments; time and date stamped stored test results; and ultra long battery life.
The 24C model allows users to store and download results, while the 14C model allows users to store and recall results to the instrument’s display.
Megger has been making electrical test equipment for more than a century. Learn more about the company, ground/earth testing and the DET14C/24C by watching Megger’s new video training series.
