Durham Instruments continues to be a leader in supplying some of the world’s top test and measurement solutions for Canadian businesses. This includes products by Measurement Specialties, which manufactures the MEAS KPSI 700 submersible hydrostatic level transducer. The KPSI 700 is designed specifically to meet the rigorous environments of liquid-level measurement.
Users can configure this hydrostatic level transducer by Measurement Specialties to perform according to specifications under highly adverse, reactive conditions.
Accurate pressure sensor assembly
A versatile tool, the KPSI 700 is useful for myriad applications, such as lift stations, pump control, level control, surface water monitoring, landfill leachate, and well or groundwater monitoring. Durham Instruments recommends this product for tasks in many industries, like general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, education, the medical field, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, transportation, and research and development.
What distinguishes the KPSI 700 is its extremely accurate pressure sensor assembly, constructed to measure hostile fluids and gases. Measurement Specialties has integrated this assembly with supporting electronics in a durable, waterproof housing made of 316 stainless steel or titanium. Attached is a custom-built electrical cable with Kevlar members to prevent errors from cable elongation. The instrument also has a unique water block feature that self-seals in the event of accidental cable cuts.
Every MEAS KPSI 700 hydrostatic level transducer comes with a SuperDry vent filter, which stops moisture from entering the vent tube for at least a year without maintenance, even in extremely humid environments. Other notable features include the following:
- Static accuracy of plus or minus one per cent FSO;
- Custom polyurethane or ETFE cable lengths;
- Custom level ranges of up to 210 metres for water;
- Multiple analog outputs;
- Multiple nose-piece styles; and
- Optional lifetime lightning protection.
The KPSI 700 complies with several strict international safety standards, such as Underwriters Laboratories in the United States and Conformité Européene in Europe, with a protection rating of IP68. It weighs only 198 grams, but the cable has pull strength of 90 kilograms. The device comes with a two-year warranty.
