A leading manufacturer of air separators required improved accuracy on flow measurements during both engineering testing and production of its products. The company turned to Teledyne Hastings for its flow meters — models HFM-301 and HFM-305 — which provided the ideal solution to meet the enhanced accuracy required.
Teledyne Hastings’ 300 Series mass flow instruments have flow ranges from 0-5 sccm to 0-3,000 slm. They use all metal seals, provide analog outputs and are constructed of stainless steel. The HFM-301 and HFM-305 models feature ±1.0 per cent of full-scale accuracy, rapid settling times of 0.4 sec., operating pressures to 500 PSI or higher, and NIST-traceable calibration.
In addition to improved accuracy and higher range requirements, the HFM-301 and HFM-305 allowed for ease of installation without the manufacturer having to reduce pipe size. The mass flow meters also offered substantial cost savings by eliminating the use and installation of large laminar flow elements.
To date, engineering testing and quality control production of air separators for this manufacturer continues to improve as a result of the accuracy and responsiveness of Teledyne Hastings mass flow meters.
