In addition to the industrial equipment it supplies, Wainbee Limited offers first-rate filtration solutions through its Filtramax division. This includes high-viscosity filtration products from manufacturers like Schroeder, which has developed two designs of high-viscosity filter carts for mobile filtration applications. These carts are recommended for tasks in which the viscosity range is higher than that of standard carts: the MFD-MV can handle a range of up to 5,000 SUS, while the MFD-HV is for up to 15,000 SUS.
Compact, self-contained filtration systems
Hydraulic liquids and gear oils typically vary from 1,000 to 5,000 SUS in viscosity. In cold environments, such as outdoor applications or when machinery is not operational, viscosity can surpass the fluid’s nominal viscosity (40 degrees Celsius) and increase significantly. So Schroeder offers compact, self-contained filtration systems equipped with high-efficiency, high-capacity elements that can remove particulate contamination and/or water, quickly and economically – ideal for cleaning existing systems or pre-filtering new fluids.
Schroeder recommends these filter carts for multiple applications, including the following:
- Supplementing continuous filtration by system filters;
- Cleaning up hydraulic systems after component replacement;
- Filtering new liquid before putting it into service; and
- Transferring fluids from storage tanks and drums to system reservoirs.
Wainbee supplies both the MFD-MV and MFD-HV through Filtramax. The MFD-MV has a top-ported filter that provides easy element service, as well as a seven-foot hose, extension wands, and standard 18-inch filter housings. It has a flow rating of 6 or 10 gallons per minute.
MFD-HV filter carts each offer the following features and benefits: flow rates of up to three gallons per minute; a 115-volt AC single-phase 1½-horsepower motor; a dual filtration unit for removing both water and particulate contamination or for staged particulate contamination removal; a modular base that eliminates hoses between components and minimizes leakage; a base-ported filter that offers easy element service from the top cap; ten-foot hose and extension tubes; a drip pan to catch oil before it falls on the ground; standard 27-inch housing; and an integrated lifting-eye option.
