Denso Hotline Tape is part of the company’s lineup of petrolatum tapes. Specifically developed for use in high-temperature applications, this tape has many best-in-class features that make it ideal for pipe work above or below ground, underneath pipe insulation or for pipes laid in concrete.
Key features and advantages
Denso Hotline Tape is composed of a synthetic fabric impregnated with a special blend of high-temperature petrolatum, mineral fillers and thermal extenders. It is backed with a thin high-density polyethylene film. This design enables it to be used in temperatures up to 110 degrees C (230 degrees F) for above ground applications, and temperatures up to 83 degrees C (180 degrees F) for below ground applications. In fact, this tape meets the requirements for NACE RP0375-2006, the standard for field-applied underground wax coating systems for underground pipelines.
Denso Hotline Tape is also resistant to UV rays, water, acid, salts and soil organics, and contains no solvents. It can be easily applied to marginally prepared surfaces in a range of environments — from arctic to tropical temperatures. In addition, it is ready for immediate service after it is applied.
Denso’s petrolatum tapes (also known as wax tapes) have been providing above and below ground and underwater protection to pipelines, fittings, tank bases and steel structures for more than 80 years. In addition to Denso Hotline Tape, the lineup includes Densyl all-purpose petrolatum tape, Denso low-temperature petrolatum tape, primer integrated petrolatum tapes, high adhesive tape, high-tack petrolatum tape with polymer backing, petrolatum tape with fire retardants, and marine petrolatum tape with HDPE backing.
