Mechanical fasteners are a common choice when the application calls for joining two substrates at a single point. However, they’re not the only bonding choice. 3M’s RP family of VHB Tapes is a proven high-strength alternative to screws, rivets, welds and other forms of mechanical fasteners.
Specialty bonding tape like 3M’s RP family of VHB Tapes permanently adheres one substrate to another, while spreading the stress load across the entire length of the joint. Once substrates are joined by this all-acrylic bonding tape, a virtually indestructible “weld” is created.
RP stands for “Right Product, Right Performance, Right Price,” an acronym fitting for a cost-efficient product that 3M says permanently bonds to a variety of surfaces, including glass, metal, many plastics, composites, sealed wood and painted surfaces. The tape bonds and seals quickly and easily, resulting in increased productivity, long-term durability and improved appearance. In addition, its all-acrylic composition allows it to resist UV and weather damage, making it a great solution for outdoor applications.
Available in Canada
