HOLZ Rubber Company’s Series 320 Expansion Joints are the result of a three-year program aimed at re-engineering the hand-built units. By studying the relationship between the pressure capability of the expansion joint and the media temperature, along with the concurrent movements and spring rates, the company was able to create a product that offered superior performance.
The Series 320 pressure piping expansion joint features an open arch design. It uses polyester tire cord and arch construction to provide greater overall performance than previous designs, and features an extra thick elastomeric tube for high performance in harsh applications. The body of the joint is made up of polyester/elastomer reinforcement plies that have been bonded within the tube and cover materials for maximum joint integrity. High tensile steel body rings are held in place by an exclusive ring enveloper system. Finally, the cover elastomer protects the body materials from external conditions.
Series 320 Pressure Piping Expansion Joints are also available in a filled arch construction. Filled arch joints are recommended for systems where high flow velocity and high abrasion conditions exist. The filled arches are built to eliminate flow turbulence and the collection of suspended solids. These joints are ideal for sewage, sludge, slurry, wastewater and process lines.
The unique design of the Series 320 enables the joints to have superior movement, solving piping movement challenges without having to use long and expensive multi-arch products.
The joints are available in high pressure versions (320HP, 320XHP, 320XHPMOD) for extreme pressure/full vacuum applications, as well as a low pressure version (320LP) for low pressure/limited vacuum applications. They come in inside diameters ranging from 10 to 96 inches.
