Denso North America is proud to offer its high build, fast cure pipeline coating, Protal 7250. This VOC free, 100 per cent solids, two-part, spray grade epoxy coating is specially formulated to complement FBE-coated pipe, and can be spray-applied in one coat in the field or shop. These features make Protal 7250 a top choice for applications that require a fast cure for quick handling and backfill times.
Key features and advantages
Thanks to its fast touch dry and set times, this coating is ideal for the on-site protection of girth welds, tie-ins, welds for boring applications, repairs to FBE, push-rack applications, station piping, fittings and fabrication. The coating is also used for main line pipe coating, sacrificial coating for directional drill (ARO) and road bore pipe, as well as the rehabilitation of existing pipelines. It can be used as an abrasion-resistant coating, and offers high abrasion resistance for drilling applications.
Protal 7250 offers excellent adhesion and cathodic disbondment properties, and can withstand high temperatures up to 95 degrees C (203 degrees F). In addition, it is safe and environmentally friendly, as it meets AWWA C-210-92 specifications and is CSA Z 245.30-14 compliant.
Protal 7250 is used in Canada, and is the spray-grade version of Protal 7200 high build, fast cure pipeline coating. It is available in 75- and 800-litre kit options.
Protal 7250 is part of Denso’s line of Liquid Pipeline Coatings, which also includes:
- Protal 7200 high build, brush grade fast cure pipeline coating;
- Protal 7125 fast cure, low temperature pipeline coating (winter grade);
- Protal 7900HT high temperature pipeline coating; and
- Protal 7300 moisture-tolerant pipeline liquid coating.
