Firing Industries is proud to welcome Hugh Morrison to its team as the company’s newest application specialist. Morrison brings with him many years of industry experience, as well as excellent presentation and communication skills, and strong negotiating abilities. He will be based in Alberta, and supporting customers in Western Canada.
Hugh Morrison’s experience spans a wide range of industries, from food processing, gas processing and oil processing, to the chemical and pulp and paper sectors. He started in the construction industry as a tradesman, followed by a brief period as a plant operator. Once he completed the required technical, sales and marketing training, he launched his career in sales with a national HVAC and refrigeration contractor. He was hired as a sales and service representative, and was then promoted to contract sales engineer, where he secured equipment and system sales ranging from $50,000 to $7 million. From there, he moved up to district sales manager, where he successfully opened new territory and established branch operations across Atlantic Canada. Morrison eventually established his own construction company, securing contracts up to $1.5 million, until the market collapsed in 2008/2009. Most recently, he worked as an estimator and project manager at TDE, an engineering and fabrication company specializing in the oil and gas industry, prior to joining the team at Firing Industries.
