Henkel has redefined structural bonding with its Loctite Hybrid 4090 — the most versatile bonder on the market. This universal structural bonder solves many of the problems associated with traditional structural adhesives used in design and assembly applications. For example, many adhesives on the market today can only bond certain materials, take too long to fixture and cure, have low strength, and are susceptible to chemicals, temperature extremes, impact or vibration. The Loctite Solution HY 4090, however, has been engineered to enable faster, more efficient manufacturing.
The many advantages of Loctite Hybrid 4090 include:
- It’s versatile: Some adhesives only work on specific materials. HY 4090, however, can bond multiple materials together, whether it’s metal on metal, metal on plastic, metal on rubber, or plastic on plastic. This material versatility opens up design options that no other structural bonder can match.
- It bonds quickly: If a bond takes too long to cure, it can slow down production. However, HY 4090 can actually accelerate the production process. It can fixture in four to six minutes, even at low temperatures. In addition, it works faster than many high-performance epoxies or acrylics, reaching 50 per cent of its handling strength in one hour.
- It’s strong and durable: HY 4090 has high strength and can hold up under conditions where other adhesives fail. It offers high moisture resistance, UV resistance, vibration, shock loads and impact resistance, as well as resistance to temperatures up to 150 degrees C.
An added bonus: HY 4090 is non-flammable, has a lower-strength odour than many other adhesives have, doesn’t include any isocyanates, and requires minimal health and safety labeling.
This universal structural bonder, which is suitable for gaps up to five millimetres, comes in an off-white to light yellow gel and is available in 50- and 400-millilitre packs. Click here for a free sample. For additional details, contact Henkel.
