N.R. Murphy is best known for manufacturing high-quality standard and custom fabricated dry dust collectors. However, the Cambridge, Ont.-based company also manufactures both small and large industrial-sized exhaust fans — a key component in modern dust collection, material handling and conveying systems.
For small applications: Designed for air or very fine dust loadings, Type MR small exhaust fans are direct drive only. They are made from heavy gauge welded steel, with a scroll wrap that is continuously welded to the side plates. These fans have the option of being constructed with spark resistant material, or with extra heavy housing and wheel construction with oversized shaft and bearings for applications with heavy abrasive materials present.
For large applications: N.R. Murphy large industrial exhaust fans are designed for use in many different dust control and air handling applications with light to heavy material and air handling. The fan housing is constructed with heavy gauge steel and braced with steel angles, while the scroll wrap is continuously welded to the side plates for a rugged and dust-tight casing. Heavy-duty, self-aligning pillow block bearings are securely fastened to a strong plate pedestal. The industrial exhaust fans all have balanced wheels that have each been statically and dynamically balanced for smooth operation.
N.R Murphy exhaust fans are built to last for years of trouble-free service, just like its dust collectors. The company carries a large inventory of its most popular designs, arrangements and sizes, so it can deliver this critical component to customers quickly. For those designs not available from stock, the company can modify an existing fan — or even build a new one — in time to meet the customer’s needs.
