Capitol Industries Inc. is more than a major provider of industrial security solutions like cam locks. The company is also a team of experts in locking technologies, especially a patented magnetic locking technology. Among Capitol’s recent developments is its series of Defiant Padlocks. Easy to use, these locks have been designed to work in the harshest environments and to ensure they work when they are needed to work. They are perfect for storage, shipping, transportation, construction, remote facilities, mining, commercial applications, and any industrial environment.
No keyway; pick-, tamper-, and vandal-resistant
Each of Capitol’s Defiant Padlocks is operated by a magnetic key/fob that is uniquely keyed to the lock. They offer more than 250,000 magnetic locking combinations, or key codes, and can be keyed alike. Because there is no keyway, these padlocks are also pick-, tamper-, and vandal-resistant.
One of the primary advantages of Capitol magnetic padlocks is their easy, one-handed operation, due to the magnetic force between the lock and the key. They work with the company’s unique, patented technology while being affordable at the same time. These locks are an ideal solution for many work environments and applications, especially remote locations, construction sites, fences, trucks, trailers, and sheds.
Watertight construction so it works when needed
The robust design of these padlocks keeps their locking mechanism airtight, which protects the locks’ internals from water, moisture, and other contaminants, even when users leave them unlocked. These padlocks are constructed to make sure that they will also work in applications with infrequent use, which may cause other kinds of padlocks to seize over time.
Each padlock has a brass body and an interchangeable shackle system: users can choose between a marine-grade stainless steel shackle, which resists corrosion in all kinds of weather, or a hardened boron alloy shackle that resists cutting. It takes the user only five seconds to swap shackles.
Four models of Defiant Padlocks are currently available from Capitol. The M-8000 and M-8030 come with 316 stainless steel shackles, while the M-8002 and M-8032 have boron alloy ones; in addition, the M-8000 and M-8002 each measure 1½ inches from the lock body to the tip of the loop, whereas that dimension is 2¾ inches in the other two models.
