Renowned for its versatile range of services – including stamping, tooling, CNC machining, extrusion, welding, and robotic bending – as well as its skills in manufacturing metal machine parts, Matritech continues to prove itself as a major force in Canadian industry. The company has spent years investing in the most innovative, state-of-the-art equipment to fulfill all of these services to the utmost. Another important service that Matritech provides is metal cutting.
To provide this service with significant advantages over the competition, the company uses three kinds of digitally controlled, high-end machinery to get the best results for metal cutting.
Laser and CNC options
To ensure that it is using the right processes for each project, Matritech chooses from among the following pieces of equipment:
- Laser-cutting machines. Each Trumpf TruLaser automated cutting machine includes a charging and storage system of 36-unit integrated turrets, used to charge the machine automatically with no manual assistance required. Depending on the material, it can cut up to 40 metres per minute. These machines also adjust laser power automatically to ensure precision, even for fine contours, without using up too much energy; they also replace nozzles automatically from their own nozzle magazines.
- CNC punching machine. Matritech’s CNC machine includes an “X” and “Y” shear system.
- Laser punching machine. This piece of equipment, also referred to as a “combo” or “hybrid”, blends the speed of a punching machine, which can execute repetitive details, with the versatile abilities of a laser to cut metal into difficult shapes.
This diversity of equipment is the primary advantage that Matritech’s metal cutting services have over those of other metal manufacturers. Clients benefit from machinery that best suits the designs of the parts they require, while the variety of cut finishes suits the needs of many industries. In addition, the availability of different machines often reduces the need for secondary operations, depending on the specific application.
