As a top Canadian producer of high-quality, precision machined products, L. & M. Precision Products Inc. has a responsibility to ensure the safety of its workers and the environment — a responsibility that the Toronto-based company takes very seriously. The manufacturer is committed to remaining compliant with current safety and environmental regulations.
A commitment to safety
L. & M. is up-to-date with WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), Canada's requirements for workplace chemicals, and is already working on upgrading to the new Global Harmonized System (GHS) version of WHMIS. The company is also current with the latest WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) requirements.
A commitment to the environment
L. & M. cares about environmental issues, too, and wants to ensure it is not contributing to harmful environmental practices. To do this, the company remains current and compliant with annual environmental reporting to the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI), Canada's legislated, publicly accessible inventory, as well as Toronto’s CHEMTrac environmental reporting. L. & M. complies with the Toxic Reduction Act (TRA), with an approved toxic reduction plan. It also annually maintains its licence with the Ministry of Environment’s Hazardous Waste Information Network (HWIN).
This kind of dedication is one of the many reasons L. & M. Precision Products has been a desirable place to work since it was founded back in 1962. The privately held company is 100 per cent Canadian owned and operated by employees. More than half of its workforce have been with the company for 20-plus years.
