For more than half a century, Continental Conveyor has been Ontario industry’s top one-stop shop for conveyors and their accessories. Among the essential industrial conveyor products that the company manufactures and sells are belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, weigh feeders, and apron feeders.
But Continental knows that clients often need to replace certain parts of conveyors, rather than invest in a whole new product. So customers also have the convenience of buying individual components whenever necessary.
Idlers, pulleys and covers
Three main kinds of conveyor components are currently available from Continental.
- Belt Conveyor Idlers: Continental carries two lines of idlers, Series 25000 and Series 30000, which are designed for continuous operation, high capacities, and heavy abrasive materials. Series 30000 idlers are fitted with heavy concentric tubing, combination contact and labyrinth seals, oversize shafts, heavy stamped end discs, deep-grooved ball bearings, stamped bearings and seal retainers. All have rolls with diameters of five or six inches and belt widths of up to five feet. Types of idlers available include flat-belt-carrying rubber-cushion, training, picking-roll, and troughing idlers.
- Belt Conveyor Pulleys: Continental designs all of its pulleys to meet standard specifications. Variations available include: lagged wing pulleys, for greater tractive capacity or excessive wear caused by buildup of material; spiral drum pulleys, which reduce belt wear and misalignment; and spiral wing pulleys, with self-cleaning features. Continental can customize pulleys by modifying specifications to meet client needs.
- Conveyor Covers: By protecting materials and conveyor components, these covers not only reduce damage to idlers and belts and prevent material loss; they can also increase employee safety. Continental’s conveyors have specialized mounting brackets, extended sides to enclose return belt runs, symmetrical design for easy and quick installation, and wide support bands to prevent gaps.
Also available from Continental are impact cassettes and specialty rubber products. Whatever your company’s conveyor needs are, be they large or small, Continental has them covered.
Founded in 1963, Continental Conveyor designs, engineers and manufactures mechanical systems for handling bulk materials in numerous industries. The company’s Ontario office is located in Napanee.
