The “Cable Selector Tool”
Found under the “Resources” tab of the company’s website, the “Cable Selector Tool” is an easy-to-use form designed to help customers select the right cable for the job. It allows users to choose one or a variety of criteria, such as cable size (gauge size, conductor count, pair count), or necessary approvals (UL, CSA, CE, RoHS, etc.). Additional details customers can include to help them find the right cable are:
- Is it a stationary, continuous flex or torsion application?
- Are certain materials (insulation, jacket material and wire colour) preferred or required?
- Is shielding required?
- What is the required operating temperature (minimum and maximum), as well as the operating voltage?
- What type of oil or flame resistance is required, if any?
- What type of motion will the cable be exposed to?
Once the criteria is provided, the user simply clicks “search cables” and is immediately given a list of cables that match the search criteria.
