The deadline to transition to the updated quality management system and international environmental management system standards — ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 — is fast approaching. By September 14, 2018, existing certification customers must be transitioned from the previous editions to the revised 2015 editions.
BSI has already helped hundreds of organizations transition to the updated standards. If you haven’t started planning your transition journey, BSI can help.
The Transition Timeline Tool
BSI’s website features an easy-to-use Transition Timeline Tool designed to help customers develop a personalized schedule.
Step 1 requires that the user input some details about the organization. For example, here you would indicate if you are a single site, a national multi-site, or an international multi-site organization. Then you input the date you would like to be transitioned by, as well as which standard you are transitioning to.
Step 2 highlights the transition schedule based on the information provided in Step 1. For example, if you have indicated that you would like to be transitioned by May 2018, the self assessment must be completed by May 2017, training by July 2017, implementation by October 2017, a gap assessment by February 2018, and a readiness review by January 2018.
It is important to keep in mind, however, that BSI has seen some of its clients take longer to transition if they don’t fully understand the changes in the new standard before they start. The company recommends buying the standard and attending one of its transition training courses to better understand the changes.
Finally, in Step 3 of the online Transition Timeline Tool, customers can download their personalized transition report, which explains the schedule in greater detail.
