Norpak Handling observed its 30th anniversary in 2018. That means three decades of top conveyor and material-handling solutions for manufacturers, warehouses, and DCs in Canada. The Integrator has built a solid reputation for quality conveyors and related equipment, as well as providing turnkey conveyor system solutions, all delivered with dedicated customer service and high expertise and knowledge.
That expertise was an ingredient that Norpak’s founders brought with them when they left a major conveyor company in 1988 to start their own business.
A century’s worth of experience
The Norpak story began in April of that year, when Stewart Raynor, a conveyor professional with years of experience, founded the company. He soon brought fellow material-handling experts Gamey Lycett and Gavin Linn into the fold. It was not long before their new company already had more than a century’s worth of collective experience in conveyor and material-handling solutions.
Norpak Handling grew to become one of the country’s largest Integrators of conveyor components and systems with locations across the nation. This expansion was wide and rapid enough that by 1997, Norpak needed to move to a larger facility, so it built a new headquarters and shop in Port Hope, Ont., enlarging the shop by more than double in 1998. The company remains here to this day.
Growth did not stop there. In 2000, Norpak acquired the conveyor division of B.C. Conveying Machinery Limited in Vancouver, B.C., which boosted its name in the west. That was also the year that Norpak became an Integration Partner with Hytrol Conveyor Company, which gave Canadian customers access to the American manufacturer’s innovative material-handling technologies. With the purchase of McKessock Engineering in 2010, Norpak raised its profile even more.
And that reputation continues today. Thirty years after three conveyor experts started their own journey, Norpak Handling is Canada’s top choice for conveyor and material-handling solutions, with Integration partners in Montreal, Calgary, Halifax, and Windsor, Ont. The company’s roster of high-profile clients includes Canada Post, FedEx, General Motors, PepsiCo Foods, and the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Three decades of success ensure world-class service.
