Long-term care and maintenance is perhaps one of the most overlooked aspects of a material handling system, yet it is one of the most critical. A preventative maintenance plan is designed to avoid costly unplanned downtime, and help ensure that systems are working optimally and safely.
Wecon Systems can help. The Mississauga, Ont.-based company not only offers conveyor equipment and solutions. It also offers a range of services to support its portfolio of solutions, including tailored maintenance and service packages.
Three plans to choose from
Wecon Systems understands that each customer has different needs, so the company has developed three maintenance plan options to meet those needs.
The three options include:
- PMI: Preventative Maintenance Inspection. This level of service includes a complete evaluation of each individual conveyor, documentation of wear and tear on all parts, and suggested repair options.
- PMR-1: Preventative Maintenance Repair Level 1. This level includes the same service as PMI, but also includes minor repair within a pre-set monetary amount. If major repairs are required, the customer is provided with a repair option.
- PMR-2: Preventative Maintenance Repair Level 2. Like the options before it, this level includes a complete evaluation of each individual conveyor and documentation of wear and tear on all parts. However, it also includes repairs using the customers’ spare parts inventory. In addition, Wecon will maintain the customer-purchased spare parts inventory.
Regardless of the brand of conveyor equipment being used, the company has the capability to provide off-the-shelf replacement parts or custom-made solutions for older, non-standard parts.

Wecon doesn’t just sell material handling systems. It takes on the responsibility of making sure the solution works right.
