Cut Gears & Pinions

Whether you need a prototype or a full order, cut gears and pinions from Rapid Gear are sure to meet your needs. Ideal for any drive system or transmission application, our products are made of only the best materials. We use custom methods to ensure that you get the right gear for your business. With procedures that can strengthen your gears and make them last longer compared to the competition, we add valuable features to each of our products. We have the ability to produce large quantities of gears, with each featuring identical construction.

Variety of materials, shapes and sizes available

We can cut gears and pinions in a range of sizes, each featuring different pitches, profiles and more. Every gear we cut provides versatile performance, allowing them to be used in a variety of industries.

Customers can choose from at least three materials, including cast iron, nylon and alloy steel. The latter allows for gear hardening and ground teeth, which leads to longer performance and better interaction with chains and other gears.

Available shapes include helical, internal, spur, worm, sprocket and bevel gears, among others. Diameters range from 36¿ to 197¿, while pitches span from 0.5 DP to six DP. The size of gears' faces depends on the model, with double helical models reaching 35¿ while bevels only reach 8¿.

Machine options

We are equipped with a variety of machines that can satisfy your gear-cutting needs. Both conventional and CNC lathes are available, with the latter offering greater precision and control. Our conventional lathes can make gears up to 36¿ in diameter 130¿ in length. CNC lathes, meanwhile, can accommodate material up to 15¿ in diameter and 30¿ in length.

We can also perform cutting on vertical and CNC mills. Gear grinding and hobs are available, the former working with gears that span up to 50¿ in diameter and have faces of up to 13¿. The latter can perform on gears with diameters up to 108¿ at a 25¿ stroke.
