A range of rotating electrical connectors is available from Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. These connectors offer many advantages that make them superior to slip rings. They incorporate liquid metal as a conductor to provide a rotary connection featuring reliability, low electrical noise, and low resistance. We pride ourselves on supplying products of top quality at competitive prices. We supply products from fourteen leading manufacturers of sensors, transducers, instrumentation, and more. To provide our customers with solutions quickly, we stock thousands of items for same day shipping.
Rotating electrical connectors
We supply Mercotac rotary electrical connectors that offer many benefits when compared to slip rings. Firstly, while slip rings require continual maintenance to prevent degradation of the connection caused by wear and debris, Mercotac rotating electrical connectors are maintenance-free. These superior connectors provide increased reliability, extremely low electrical noise, long life, sealed ball bearing construction, and less than 1 milliohm resistance. They also feature a durable, compact design and a low cost. They are proudly made in the USA and are available for same day shipment.
These rotary electrical connectors use a liquid metal as the conduction path, which provide an extremely low-resistance connection. The liquid metal is molecularly bonded to the contacts. This design provides an electrical connection that is constant and unchanging over the connector's life. Unlike the brush contact of a slip ring, rotation does not cause any wear to the connectors. Also, the unique design provides near zero electrical noise.
These connectors are used in a wide variety of applications, as many types of OEM machinery can benefit from their advantages over slip rings. Some examples include robotics, packaging, laminating, turntables, cable reels, control devices, heated rollers, remote video inspection, semi-conductor protection, strain gauges and thermocouples.
