Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

Geneq Inc. can supply the MTG and PTG range of ultrasonic thickness gauges from Elcometer. The MTG and PTG range consists of material and precision thickness gauges. They feature easy operation, accuracy, and efficiency. They are the perfect choice for measurement and recording of material thicknesses from 0.2 millimeters to 500 millimeters. These thickness gauges were designed specifically for ease-of-use. As a result, it is simple to calibrate, take readings, and create inspection reports. Some of the other advantages offered by these gauges include high efficiency, durability, and multiple measurement modes.

Ultrasonic thickness gauges

The MTG and PTG range of gauges also feature high accuracy. The gauges have measurement accuracy to plus or minus 1 per cent across their full range. They can provide accurate and repeatable measurement on all types of surfaces including smooth, rough, curved, coated, and uncoated. The gauges have a stability indicator that provides visual indication of the ultrasonic signal's strength and reliability.

To provide high efficiency, the gauges offer a set measurement repetition rate of 4 Hz (four readings per second). In addition, some models have user-selectable measurement rates up to 16 Hz. They include the MTG6, PTG6, MTG8, and PTG8.

Other features

The gauges have a number of measurement modes. They include pulsed-echo mode for pit and flaw detection, and ThruPaint mode which ignores the coating thickness for measuring the material underneath.

Some models also feature data-logging functionality. For instance, the MTG8 and PTG8 can store up to a maximum of 100,000 readings in 1,000 sequential or grid type batches.

These thickness gauges also offer durability thanks to the heavy duty, impact resistant design. They are dust and waterproof to IP54 and have displays that are scratch and solvent resistant.
