Our wire rope is available in 7 X 7 and 7 X 19 constructions, either with or without vinyl coating. Our 7 X 7 construction wire rope is available in trade sizes from 1/16 to 3/16. They are supplied in reels of 500 feet lengths and they offer maximum working load limits up to 740 pounds. Our 7 X 19 construction wire rope ranges in trade size from 3/32 to 1/4. They have maximum load limits up to 1400 pounds.
Wire rope design
Wire rope consists of several strands of wire laid into a helix. The different wire rope constructions we offer have different numbers of wires per strand. For instance, a 7 X 7 wire rope has seven strands that are each made up of seven wires, while a 7 X 19 wire rope has seven strands with 19 wires per strand. A higher number of wires per strand provides the wire rope with greater strength and flexibility.
