Rubber suspension systems are components with diverse applications, including acting as a small primary or minor secondary suspension spring inside vehicle suspension or trailer suspension systems.

Rubber is not only flexible in shape, but also stretches its value in use of commercial and industrial products and applications.

Rubber suspension systems are components with diverse applications, including acting as a small primary or minor secondary suspension spring inside vehicle suspension or trailer suspension systems.

More than a century ago, the locomotive industry, followed by the budding automotive sector, devised a way to replace steel springs as a durable and dependable means of vehicular suspension.

As a way to mitigate rust corrosion and cut overall maintenance and inventory costs, rubber became an effective substitute to steel to be used as part of a transportation suspension system.

Mechanical stress, material stability, tolerance to high service temperatures and exposure to external solutions or liquids are important qualities affecting the overall performance of a rubber suspension unit.

Determine the performance of rubber suspension systems based on the technology used in its manufacturing: features such as bearing, damping, spring and tensioning functionality needs to be considered to ensure the correct rubber material is chosen.

The ROSTA Inc. line of multi-purpose rubber suspension systems are versatile as they are resilient – to push, pull or to provide tension as a specially developed, heat resistant elastomeric compound.

Because of its unique compression design, ROSTA rubber material neither shears nor bends under pressure, boasting the best of its elastomeric properties unaffected by dirt, mud, salt, sunlight, water and temperatures ranging from – 40 °C to + 80 °C (– 40 °F to +180 °F).

ROSTA offers various, custom ‘rubber mixes’ called a “Rubmix” depending on the specialized use or application in which machinery or equipment the rubber unit will be used. Always consult with a ROSTA professional to ensure the correct “Rubmix” is selected for your particular application.

Rubmix 10” is the base standard in rubber quality offering optimal function with high memory stability and reduced wear and tear aging properties, which is constructed with vulcanized natural rubber.

Rubmix 20” is a top choice for applications involved continual, permanent oil or high temperature contact because of its superior assembly using synthetic elements designed to withstand elevated heat and oil-resistant features.

Rubmix 40” provides the best of elevated, ambient temperatures up to 120°C or 250°F. Because of the natural damping and cold flow properties of this specific elastomeric material, “Rubmix 40” is up to 50% higher in these areas compared to “Rubmix 10”.
