Nytemp patch

One example of the innovative solutions available from Nylok is its self-locking patch. This patch is made of a high temperature polymer that is permanently bonded to a fastener’s threads. Once engaged, the Nytemp patch makes a wedge between the fastener and mating part, which compresses the polymer and creates metal-on-metal contact opposite the patch. This design provides positive resistance to vibration and loosening. The locking element can be reused several times thanks to the polymer’s great memory characteristics.

The Nytemp patch can bond to a wide range of fastener finishes and can be used on fasteners of any size or thread configuration. It is resistant to fuel, lubricants, hydraulic fluids and most commercial solvents. It is also unaffected by high humidity conditions and is rated for temperatures up to 232 degrees C (450 degrees F).

The Nytemp patch meets a broad range of industry requirements, including IFI, DIN, Military and major OEM specifications. It also meets NASA low out-gassing requirements, and is environmentally friendly and non-toxic.
