The digital ETC (Electronic Temperature Control) is designed to keep electrical enclosures cool while minimizing compressed air use.

When electronics inside a control cabinet overheat, the machine can shut down as a result of tripped overloads and breakers, or heat damage to the circuit boards. There are a variety of cooling methods on the market to prevent this, such as fans, heat exchangers and air conditioners, but they are often unreliable due to mechanical wear or clogged filters. EXAIR has another, more reliable, solution. Its digital ETC (Electronic Temperature Control) is designed to keep electrical enclosures cool while minimizing compressed air use. It is a maintenance-free solution for protecting sensitive electronics in harsh environments.

How it works

The ETC accurately maintains a constant temperature in the electrical enclosure that is slightly under the maximum rating of the electronics. It allows just enough cooling for the electronics without going so cold as to waste compressed air. A digital LED readout displays the temperature of the electrical enclosure in Fahrenheit or Celsius, then displays the user temperature setting when pressing the “push to set” button. When that setting is exceeded, the Cabinet Cooler System is activated, eliminating high temperature malfunctions and damage to sensitive electronics.

They are maintenance-free because they have no moving parts to wear out.

ETC details

Available in cooling capacities up to 5,600 Btu/Hr, the ETC is CE compliant, and suitable for NEMA 4, 4X and 12 environments. The units provide cold air for both small and large control panels, and work with EXAIR’s UL listed Dual Cabinet Coolers. Models are available for 120 or 240 VAC, and lower cooling capacities are available.

EXAIR has been solving problems in industrial plants for more than 30 years with its compressed air-operated products. The manufacturer offers a complete line of cabinet cooler systems to dependably cool electrical enclosures.
