The QX Series precision fastening system puts users in control by helping them improve process control, operator comfort and data communication.

Tools that put users in total control are the key to improving process control, operator comfort and data communication. 

The QX Series precision fastening system, from Ingersoll Rand and available through Wainbee, is such a tool. Not only is it designed to provide improvements to all three of those areas, but it has the ability to do so in a single package, while increasing productivity, lowering costs and ensuring a high-quality product. 

Control: Ingersoll Rand’s patented closed-loop transducer control delivers precise torque and accurate, traceable results. A multi-function display module allows for quick setup and feedback on every QX Series tool. It shows results and accepts programming inputs, and stores cycle data for up to 1,200 rundowns. Eight user-programmable configurations for torque, angle and speed per tool make it one tool that does the work of eight, reducing costs and workspace clutter. 

Operator comfort: The QX Series precision fastening system is cordless, compact, lightweight and ergonomically balanced so the operator can work without restraints. 

Data communication: A wireless communication option facilitated by Ingersoll Rand’s dedicated Process Communication Module helps integrate the tool and the assembly line into a true plant-wide network. It allows users to manage data, process control and adjust tool configurations in real time using Ethernet, fieldbus or I/O.

The QX Series includes a precision screwdriver, haz tool and angle wrench. Additional features include:

  • A digital signal processor that monitors torque, angle and motor current while communicating end-of-run data;
  • An advanced power board that modulates power from a lithium-ion battery to optimize performance; and
  • A DC brushless motor.
