The Megger AVO410 features a CAT IV 600 V safety rating.

The AVO410 digital multimeter is a versatile instrument with a CAT IV safety rating and true RMS reading capabilities. This multimeter is designed for contracting electricians, but offers additional features that make it suitable for a wide range of users and applications.

Flexibility

This multimeter has many uses. For instance, it can measure AC and DC voltage and current, in addition to resistance, frequency and capacitance ranges. It can also be used in demanding industrial applications thanks to its CAT IV 600 V safety rating. The unit also has a compact case with tough rubberized holster. This rugged design protects the AVO410 from the extreme conditions of industrial environments. The AVO410 also has a 6,000 count backlit digital display that allows users to take measurements in poorly lit areas.

Multimeter capabilities

This multimeter can perform both AC measurements up to 750 volts and DC measurements up to 1,000 volts. The unit is also supplied with a separate fused terminal to perform current measurements up to 10 amps, while protecting both the user and instrument from excess current. For data acquisition and analysis, the AVO410 can be connected to a PC via USB port using its optically isolated RS232 interface.

All of the functions are auto-ranging when first selected, and there is a range button that allows multiple manual ranges to be selected on each function. The multimeter also has a minimum/maximum function, so users do not have to continually monitor the display to capture a momentary fall or increase in the reading. In addition, the AVO410 has a data hold feature, which freezes a result on the display, so users do not have to remember a measurement value. This function can be nested within the minimum/maximum feature, stopping the meter from continuously updating the minimum and maximum values.
