FEIN Power Tool Company recently celebrated a major milestone — 50 years of serving the Canadian market with high-quality power tools and abrasives

FEIN Canadian Power Tool Company launched in 1964, the second oldest subsidiary of C. & E. FEIN GmbH. Headed by Heino Claessens, great great grandson of the company founder, Emil Fein, the company’s Canadian team firmly keeps with FEIN history and tradition, selling high-quality German-made power tools on the Canadian market with expert knowledge and professional customer service.

FEIN Canada has grown from a one-man, one-location operation to a 21-strong sales team based in Mississauga, Ont., and Montreal, Que., supporting four additional sales offices across the country. The company has evolved over the last five decades to continue to meet its customers’ needs. In recent years, its activities have diversified and high-quality accessories have been added to the product range, including a complete range of material finishing solutions. FEIN is now positioned on the Canadian market as a supplier of premium power tools for the market segments of metal and interior construction.

The Canadian market was built up through nationwide use of a demonstration van, the “FEIN bus” — an on-the-ground strategy that is still being used today. The new presentation vehicle, now called FEIN Mobile Training Centre, is used to demonstrate FEIN, SLUGGER and GRIT solutions on the customer’s doorstep. This proximity to the user and the growing international profile of the brand will continue to reinforce FEIN’s position as an application specialist for Canadian industry.

FEIN’s history dates back to 1867, when Wilhelm Emil Fein founded a company to manufacture physical and electrical equipment, and went on to invent the first electric hand drill almost 30 years later in 1895. This invention paved the way for highly reliable power tools, which FEIN still manufactures at its headquarters in Germany, and for which the long-standing German company is known for throughout the world to this day.

FEIN has been a world-leading power tool manufacturer for more than 140 years, and without a doubt one of the main reasons for this is that it continues to meet its own standard of only developing durable power tools with every new product innovation it creates today.
