When Jacques Chevrier founded La Cie J. Chevrier Instruments inc. back in 1975, his dream to start a distribution company became a reality. Today, 40 years later, Chevrier Instruments, based in Montreal, Que., is a family run distributor of measurement and control instruments for industrial processes.

The company offers a huge variety of products, including analyzers, anemometers, contractors, gauges, indicators, loggers, meters, monitors, probes, recorders, regulators, sensors, switches, testers, thermometers, timers, transmitters and transducers. It works with a long list of suppliers, including Alnor/TSI, Badotherm, Cooper, Dwyer, ENFM, RKC, KIMO Instruments, Fluke and more, and maintains a large stock so it can quickly fulfil all customer requests, ready for next day delivery.

In addition to supplying measurement and control instruments, the company offers calibration services to its customers in its calibration lab or at the customer’s site. It complies with international quality standards — ISO 17025:2005 — is a member of and registered with NEBB for the calibration of measuring instruments for air balancing contractors, and a member of NCSLI, an organization dedicated to metrology science.

“Our main concern has always been to provide our clients with high quality instruments, service and technical support, helped by our cordial and skilled personnel,” says Jacques Chevrier, founder and chairman of the board. “Thanks to a sound management and an expertise acquired with the passing years, Chevrier Instruments is today a profitable and professionally known company.”

And though Chevrier is now retired, he is confident the company is in good hands with the next generation of management — his three sons Denis (technical director), Pierre (purchasing director) and Marc (general manager).
