REDwire An easy way to determine when a sprocket needs to be replaced

{{1430525268702| date:'MMM d, yyyy hh:mm a'}}    REDWIRE is news you can use from leading suppliers. Powered by FRASERS.

Tsubaki offers sprocket wear indicators as a quick and easy way to tell when it’s time to change your sprockets.

System performance highly depends on chain-sprocket interaction, which means the choice of sprockets can drive an operation’s success. Tsubaki offers both chain and sprocket manufacturing capabilities. When chains and sprockets articulate perfectly, you get long service life and reliable performance, as well as reduced downtime maintenance, increased productivity and lower replacement costs.

Eventually, though, sprockets will need to be replaced. Over time, the width of sprocket teeth is reduced from continuous engagement with the chain roller. As a sprocket approaches the end of its lifespan, the chain tends to cling to the sprocket or vibrate. This causes the chain to wear at a faster rate than if new sprockets were used.

Tsubaki offers sprocket wear indicators as a quick and easy way to tell when it’s time to change your sprockets. How does it work? When a sprocket is worn, the chain roller will contact the wear indicator, which will leave a yellow mark on the tooth. This visual warning eliminates the guess work in sprocket maintenance and ensures the performance of the drive.

Wear indicators are available on RS100 sprockets and up.
