Durham Instruments can supply the HU Hammer Union, a rugged pressure transmitter designed to handle the most demanding applications. The unit is made by Automation Products Group, an ISO-certified manufacturer that specializes in pressure transducers and liquid level sensors.

Rugged design

The HU is made from materials that are well suited for applications involving highly abrasive and corrosive media. It complies with such standards as ISO 15156-3 and NACE MR-01-75 for sour gas service. In addition, the HU offers exceptional resistance to shock and vibration. 

The HU also has an enclosure that is built to NEMA 4X/IP67 ratings, which means it is suitable for outdoor use and will provide protection against dust, water, corrosion and more. This durable design makes the HU ideal for such harsh environments as the oil patch. It is often used for applications like cementing, fracturing, acidizing and mud logging.

Features

The HU offers high accuracy, as it provides pressure readings within 0.25 per cent of full scale and Shunt Cal capabilities for testing full output. The unit also features long life, with a minimum of 10 million cycles. Another feature of the HU is its versatility, as it is used in a variety of industries and applications, including mining, manufacturing, automation and controls, and power generation.

Specifications

The HU was designed specifically for use with the 1502 Hammer Wing Union, and a 2202 fitting is also available. It uses industry standard electrical connectors, and provides an output signal of 4-20 mA or zero to five VDC.
