BSI helps organizations improve workplace health and safety by providing a range of products and services.

Taking health and safety seriously can achieve maximum return for an organization’s employees, operations and customers. BSI helps organizations improve workplace health and safety, and test personal protective equipment (PPE), by providing a range of products and services. The leading global services organization also provides testing and certification services to help PPE manufacturers meet and demonstrate compliance with relevant legislation.

Popular health and safety courses include:

  • Essentials of OHSAS 18001:2007. Students will understand the requirements and benefits of BS OHSAS 18001, and learn to develop their own health and safety management system. Be advised, though, that a new ISO standard, ISO 45001, on occupational health and safety management system requirements, is currently being produced to replace OHSAS 18001. Though the new standard will be published in 2016, OHSAS 18001 is still valid and will be for some time after the new ISO standard is published. Companies will still benefit from implementing and certifying against BS OHSAS 18001, and certification will be allowed for a period of time following the publication of ISO 45001.
  • Transitioning to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 from OHSAS 18001:1999: Improving Occupational Health and Safety Management System Effectiveness. Students will get an overview of the amendments to the OHSAS 18001:1999 standard, and review changes and new requirements in OHSAS 18001:2007.

Organizations across the globe train with BSI because it offers one of the widest ranges of standards-related training available.

“We don’t just train you to meet standards,” the organization says. “We helped to shape and develop many of them, and we carry out the audits and assessments.”

Because of this, BSI says its students get the full benefit of that 360-degree expert knowledge.

“We know what an audit will look for, so we train you to meet it. We know the thinking behind the standard, so we can convey that to drive and inspire your people.”

BSI has a team of expert tutors working across the world who can transfer the knowledge, skills and tools organizations need to embed standards of excellence into the company. They have vast amounts of training and assessment experience, and work across a wide range of business sectors.
