A &
M Process Equipment of Ajax, Ontario was founded in 1986 to continue
marketing a range of solids/solids, and liquid/solids mixing and size
reduction equipment, some of which had served Canadian industry since
1918.
Mixing
product lines include Ribbon and Paddle blenders in both single and
twin shaft designs, "V"-shell blenders, Conical blenders, and other
specialty mixers for both batch and continuous processing.
Size
reduction equipment encompasses the "Morley" Hammermill and custom designed
Lumpbreakers.
Since
inception, A & M has developed an expertise in the manufacture of high
quality, sanitary equipment, especially for the food and pharmaceutical
industry. We can offer custom engineering for the entire blending operation,
and can furnish peripheral components, such as filtered bag dump stations,
feed/discharge conveyors, sifters, magnetic separators, etc., thus offering
the end user with one source of responsibility for their blending operation.
PRODUCTS
Ribbon/Paddle
Blenders
Ribbon
Blenders are typically utilized for processing solids to solids, solids
to liquids, and thin paste products. Standard sizes having working capacities
ranging between 1/2 to 500 cubic feet are available in carbon steel,
T304 or T316 stainless steel, and other special alloys. Dependent on
application, various agitator designs can be offered, including twin
shaft models for processing meats, cheese products, and soups, and Paddle
agitators for processing fragile products.
"V"-Shell
Blenders
A &
M "V"-Shell Blenders are utilized for applications ranging from gentle
blending to intensive mixing, typically in the food and pharmaceutical
industry. A uniform blend is achieved by the intermeshing action of
two inclined cylinders. This combines precise blending with short blending
times. Tumble blending is most suited to products of uniform size and
density, and where requirements for fast thorough cleaning are desirable
such as sanitary applications.
"V"-Shell
Blenders are available having working capacities from 1 through 150
cubic feet. For the dispersion of minor ingredients, and/or breaking
up of materials, which tend to form agglomerates, the blender can be
equipped with a Solids Intensifier Bar. For incorporation of liquids,
the bar assembly is cored and equipped with a feed tube to disperse
the liquid between the disc assemblies in a finely atomized spray throughout
the product mix.
Conical
Blenders
Conical
Blenders offer similar performance as the "V"-Shell blender, and have
been most popular in the nutritional food and metal powder industry.
Due to its low profile, the Conical Blender requires less headroom than
an equally sized "V"-Shell blender. Blender sizes are available having
working capacities ranging from 1 to 250 cubic feet.
A fully
automated, PLC controlled Drum Loading System for either the "V"-Shell
or Conical Blender transfers powder from drums directly into the blender
and back into drums after the mix cycle is complete. This provides a
dust free transfer of material while eliminating external loading systems
such as vacuum transfer processes, which are noisy, and require extensive
cleanup.
Laboratory
and Portable Blenders
A &
M Laboratory Blenders are available in both "V"-Shell and Conical designs,
and, in either portable or "Bench-Top" configuration. Interchangeable
blender shell modules are cantilevered from the drive module, and are
available in 4, 8, 16, and 21 Liter capacities and a NEW, 1 cubic foot
version.
Similarly,
both "V" Shell and Conical blenders are available in a pre-packaged,
portable configuration having 1, 2, 3, or 5 cubic foot working capacity.
The customer needs only to remove from shipping skid, wheel into place,
and plug into the power supply to operate.
Lumpbreakers
Many
products form lumps during storage and shipping, thus requiring "delumping"
prior to further processing. A & M offers a range of single shaft lumpbreakers
for processing friable products, and twin shaft designs for reducing
harder lumps or products containing oils, fats, etc. Lumpbreakers can
be integrated into the discharge hopper of bag dump stations, and equipped
with conveyors to feed directly into blenders |
