If you can't find what you need, send us your question.
When you ask FRASERS.com to search for a product, company, or brand name, the site checks to see if you are registered.
If FRASERS.com can confirm that you are registered, then it performs your search. To save you the bother of typing in a Username and Password every time you use the site, FRASERS uses an Internet cookie to identify you as a registered user.
If FRASERS.com cannot confirm that you are registered, then you are presented with a page inviting you to register. The page has two buttons, "Click Here to Register" and "Enter the Site".
If you HAVEN'T registered, pick "Click Here to Register".
If you HAVE registered, but you're still being invited to register, there may be a couple of reasons why FRASERS.com can't confirm your registration:
You may be on a different computer than the one you were using when you registered. If this is the case, just fill in your e-mail address (the same one you listed when you registered) and click "Enter the Site".
Check the "Save my registration information" box if you'll be using the same computer in the future, and you want FRASERS to automatically confirm that you are a registered user.
You may have cookies disabled on your web browser. Internet cookies are what FRASERS.com uses to confirm that you are a registered user. What this means is that although the site will accept your registration, if you have cookies disabled it can't confirm that you are you.
To enable cookies on Netscape Navigator 4, go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced and check one of the accept cookie buttons.
To enable cookies on Internet Explorer 4, go to View/Internet Options/Advanced/Security and check one of the accept cookie buttons.
For Internet Explorer 5, you can find Internet Options under the Tools menu.
The search rules are simple, and if you understand them you'll be able to find what you want more efficiently.
For instance, search for belt not belts.
A product search for belt will find, among many others, Belts - Chain, but it doesn't work the other way around.
A product search for belts will NOT find Belt Fasteners.
The fewer search words you type, the more likely you'll be to find the categories or companies you want.
Let's say you're looking for Acme Canada Co. Inc. but you're not completely sure of the name. It might be Acme Canadian, or Acme Canada Ltd.
Just type acme (make sure you've got the Company Name button checked) and you'll get all companies with acme in their names.
Type acronyms without spaces. If you search for abc, then you will still find A.B.C. and A B C, as well as ABC. But if you search for a b c, then you will also get Active Belting Canada.
A company search for belt will find, among others, Green Belting Industries, Belt Technologies, and Beltone. In other words, it will find all companies that have a word that begins with belt in their names.
A product search for air pump will find, among others, Pumps - Air, Pumps - Air Operated, Pumps - Air Powered, and Pumps - Aircraft Fuel.
In other words, it would find all product categories with both air and pump in their names.
A company search for acme belt might find Acme Belt Ltd. but it would also find Pratt & Acme Conveying & Belting, and Acme Chain and Belt.
In other words, it would find all companies that contain acme and belt in their names.
A company search for "acme belt" (if you put the phrase in quotes) would only find Acme Belt Ltd. It would not, for example, find Acme Chain and Belt.
In other words, it would find only companies that contain the exact phrase acme belt in their names.
A product search for steel or boat will find, among others, Boats - Steel, but it will also find Boats - Inflatable, Trailers - Boat, Alloys - Steel, and Stainless Steel.
In other words, it will find any product categories with the words steel or boat.
A product search for chain belt, for example, will find, among others, the category Belt - Chain. If you click on this category, you'll be shown a list of companies.
To see only the companies with offices (including branch offices) in Ontario, pick Ontario from the "List companies in" pull down menu, and click the "go" button.
In the example above, if you have a list of companies in Ontario, you can get a list of companies in PEI instead by going to the bottom of the page and picking Prince Edward Island from the "List companies in" pull down menu, and then clicking the "go" button.
All FRASERS.com searches eventually result in a list of companies. Clicking on any of these companies provides company descriptions and additional info if it exists.
Clicking on the "send e-mail" tab on the profile page triggers an e-mail form.
The participating company's e-mail address will automatically be filled out in the To section.
Your e-mail address (as listed in your registration form) will automatically be filled out in the From section.
Just type in your Subject and Message and click the "Send" button.
This trail lets you jump backwards in your search, so you can try a different search approach without starting completely over.
You can click on "categories" in the breadcrumb and pick one that's more general.
You can click on "companies" in the breadcrumb trail to review the list.
